Fresh & Free Fridays is a community DJ program. Contemporary DJing is not like the old competitive days of turntablist battles, but has become more democratized and curatorial celebrating the art of selection. From composing mix-tapes out of admiration, ringing in the joy at a wedding, backing the lyrics of a MC, to inspiring radio listeners and moving club goers the DJ humbly brings people together. It's this thoughtful generosity of music appreciation we wish to share as we layer up and kick the heat on during these colder months. This fun showcase of regional collectors takes place here at the record shop just about every Friday 6p - 8p. BYOB. Check/message xavwax for schedule updates and to participate.
